A low pressure system was formed in the East Sea this morning, causing rough seas and strong winds in the area, the National Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Center reported. At 7 am today, the system was at latitude 7.9o north and longitude 115o east, with winds of 39-49 kph and gusts of up to 62 kph. The system is moving west at about 20 km and will likely become stronger within the next 24 hours. Due to the low pressure, the southern area of the East Sea, including the sea of Truong Sa, will face strong winds of up to 62 kph, and gusts of up to 87 kph. Thunderstorms and rough seas will impact this area. In addition, the low pressure, which is combining with the cold snap in the northern area of the East Sea, will also cause rough seas and strong winds of 45 kph and gusts of 75 kph in the region between Binh Thuan and Ca Mau provinces. Meanwhile, rough seas and northeastern winds of 39 kph and gusts of 62 kph will impact the middle area of the East Sea.
